A number of news writers recently have pushed back against the overwhelming belief (at least within corporate America) that blogging will win friends, influence people and along the way generate tons of cash. We are witnessing the anti-bloggers.

- Another reason to engage your brain, something too often left to rust in the mountain of disregarded tools, such as historical context, wisdom and critical reading. Just because something is displayed on the internet -- even behind a well-known brand -- doesn't equate truth.

- Why not do away with names altogether and simply barcode your kids at birth? I'm not sure being number E5623143 is worse than living live as Sunny Future Jones or Hezariah Epiphany Smith. Bring back the traditional names, such as Betty, Mary or even Ed.

- The hed is a bit misleading. BenQ would love to see an iPod phone come along, just look at how the nano impacted flash memory sales. However, Apple already has its iTunes phone arrangement with Motorola and its popularity is less than spectacular.

- After 10 years of marriage and being deeply involved in technology, I've learned balance is the ultimate key. A spouse doesn't mind you spending some technology time, as long as it has distinct boundaries.

- The siren song of tech can lead you astray. While the voIP phone, the blogs, the online video clips and Internet communities provide many levels of interest in which we can lose ourselves, technology was never meant to be an alternate reality, but an assist in the real world.

- A 2.0 "mash-up" (there has to be a better name; it makes me think of mashed potatoes) that culls new blogs might be an interesting proposition. The Newsvine "Greenhouse" does much the same, but on a more manageable scale.
